'After spending the better part of the decade relentlessly touring around Australia from their hometown of Fremantle (before relocating to Melbourne in 2018), Hideous Sun Demon last year made the pilgrimage to the Northern Hemisphere. Andy Blanchfield of UK based Futile Bookings put together an 18 date tour through the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium across 4 weeks in August/September 2019.

With 7 years, 3 albums and a few EP’s under their belt - and no viral crisis in sight - HSD were arguably at the peak of their powers. Luckily for those of us who couldn’t be there the sound engineer from Mabgate Bleach in Leeds, Jack Devlin, had the foresight to record their set. 8 (well technically 10) tracks of raw garage-y post-punk bouncing around the cold stone walls. It’s a warts-and-all recording - digital peaks, no overdubs or studio trickery - it’s lively and exposed. It’s just what we’ve been missing.' - MHR
