about
‘Distractions’ laments the repetitive and mind numbing activities we all engage in for the sake of escapism. The vehicle for this message is a thick slab of synth laden chain punk which channels darker influences then previous singles. New instrumentation is embraced via Roland 707 percussion, a vocoder and several models of synthesizers.

lyrics
I wake up like a fist to the face, All my life I get no satisfaction, Distractions
I sit about in an apathetic waste, I sit about and don’t take any action,
Distractions
I wake up and I scream into space,
The lust for life, it loses it’s attraction
Distractions
I leave the the house and get caught up in the race, Another night, another dull transaction
Distractions
Oh brain
You’ll never change, in the void
I’m defeated and I’m bored
Cultural repetition, critical reception
Do you ever wonder, wonder what it’s for
Confidence and affluence, pissing on the carpet
Have a nagging feeling You’ve been here before
Because everyone is everything, everyone is small,
Because everyone is everything, yeah,
Because everyone is everything, means nothing to no-one
I climb to the highest point, that I can find at the time,
Reality becomes more removed with altitude, its not a lie
I’ve seen and I’ve felt it, I felt that I’ve seen it
Because everyone is everything, means nothing to no-one
And all the dreams that I thought I’d attain,
My grand ideas never gained ever traction,
Distractions
I swing a bat into your jaw (I swing a bat into ya neck),
I swing a bat (I’ll brick you up , I’ll mess you up, I’ll brick you down), to witness the reaction
Distractions
